ESSEN UND TRINKEN: MY FAVORITE AUSTRIAN FOODS

Food is certainly something essential in our lives, besides keeping us alive, it also has the capacity to make us feel pleasure, reunite people, and let us know a lot about the culture of a region, whose gastronomy says a lot about its!

The gastronomy is influenced not only by the tastes of those who work in it, but also by the geographical location of a place and its climatic characteristics... that's why it is so interesting! Therefore, gastronomy is not just about cooking / eating, but about enjoying an art shaped around a diversity of aspects that condition the preparation of the dishes.

Well, you must have probably already realized that I am a big fan of food, right? In fact, to be honest with you, I'm not very skilled in the kitchen when it comes to preparing dishes... my business is just eating! And that is why, today I will introduce you to some of the Austrian dishes that I like the most, and how to prepare them, in an easy way, right there at your home!

My favorite one is the famous Käsespätzle, a typical dish from the Alps, prepared with layers of hot Spätzle, grated granulated cheese and fried onions on the top. So it is something very creamy but also with a touch of crispness. In addition, you can eat it with some green salad or potato salad and a good wine.

Another dish that I also really like is the Wiener schnitzel. This Austrian specialty is so famous that it even has its own date on the calendar, September 9th is the "National Wienerschnitzel Day". But what is this culinary wonder made of? Basically, it consists of a delicious thin slice of breaded veal, accompanied by lemon slices, potatoes and even jam.

And in the last but not less important, I present you the Apfelstrudel, a traditional dessert, born in Vienna, made of a thin puff pastry, stuffed with pieces of apples, cinnamon, raisins and bread crumbs. The stuffed strudel is baked in the oven and can be served hot, usually sprinkled with powdered sugar, but it also goes very well with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

So that's it, these are the Austrian delights that have my heart. And what about yours, which one do you prefer? Have you tried to make any of them at home? If you make, call me... (to eat)! hahaha
