"MUSIK" - SOME OF THE GREATEST MUSIC FESTIVALS OF AUSTRIA

Well, if there is something in this life that enchants me, besides food, as you already noticed in the other post... it is music!

Music is one of the most beautiful ways of art in the world, being able to connect people, captivate old memories, make us relax, reduce depression / tension / anxiety and increase focus on important tasks. It can also cause excitement, agitation, happiness and even the opposite, like sadness, depending on the melody and the rhythm. 

That's why, I'm gonna present you a few great music festivals in Austria, where you could not only have a good time enjoying cool songs, but also meet some people and make new friends.

Rave on Snow: let's begin with the one that I've been and that's why it has my approval and also my recommendation if you are a big fan of electronic music like me! Rave on Snow is an annual winter electronic music festival, which has been taking place since 1993 in Saalbach, in the Austrian Alps, with around 200 km of ski / snowboard tracks to venture out and 70 djs to play various styles of electronic music performed in the 14 external and internal dance floors of the event at altitudes up to 2000 meters above sea level! No words to describe it ... it was without any doubt just one of the most epic experiences of my hole life!

    

Grafenegg Festival: this is a classical music festival that takes place annually in August on the grounds of the Grafenegg Castle, whose architecture is made up of centuries of history, being an example of historicism in Austria. It is also possible to take a stroll through the gardens with century-old trees, equipped with a picnic basket full of delicious dishes in the picnic pavilion, during the sound of musicians playing in the largest outdoor arena in Europe.

    

Saalfelden Jazz Festival: this incredible event offers honest, unaffected and somewhat harsh music. It strives to be a place of experimentation, where the most innovative music can be heard. What started in 1979 in a horse barn long ago established its main stage at the Saalfelden Congress. Concerts are also held at the Kunsthaus Nexus and free performances in front of the City Hall. In all, the festival features four days of jazz amid Salzburg's spectacular alpine scenery.

    

Donaufestival Krems: Krems an der Donau is a beautiful riverside town in the historic Wachau valley, a famous wine-producing region in Lower Austria. However, every April, Krems host a celebration of music and performance that might be surprising, presenting a collection of avant-garde acts that range from electronica to noiserock, from psychedelic rock to performance art. This forward-thinking festival is the perfect way to experience the Wachau valley from a whole new perspective; mixing groundbreaking, edgy performances with a series of tasty wines. What could be better?

    

Carinthian Summer Music Festival: it is ranked among the most important summer festivals in Austria today. It started in 1969 on the shores of Ossiachersee lake and is renowned for the classical and new musical talent that it showcases. Many musicians come to Carinthia every year and perform in atmospheric venues such as Ossiach Abbey, the mountain church in Tiffen, the "Stone House" of architect Günther Domenig in Steindorf, the Gothic church St. Martin / Feldkirchen and Glanegg Castle.
